With the scheduled release date of X3: Terran Conflict getting closer, Egosoft and the European publisher Deep Silver have today released a promotional video covering one of the four facets of the game - BUILD.

The video shows some new stations and ships as well as a brief look at the new, improved interface and menu system. In the voice-over it also mentions more about some of the other upcoming content such as new ship classes.

You can currently view and download the video at the Deep Silver website, but of course Egosoft is already preparing downloads from their own servers as well, from where you will be able to choose your preferred video format and size.

As soon as they are up, we will update this news article.

Gamers can take on the roles of different characters in the X universe, or of a Terran military pilot, and experience a multitude of stories in the largest X universe ever featured – for X³: Terran Conflict will offer more missions than any other X game before. Meanwhile, X³: Terran Conflict will pose questions such as: How has Earth changed in all these years? And how will relations between Earth and its counterparts in the X universe develop?

X³: Terran Conflict is scheduled for release end of September 2008.

09.Jan.08 MD files released  (9 Comments)
As promised in the last X-Universe News, everything you need to develop your own missions using the Mission Director has now been made available by the Egosofties. Some of you are already making good progress in creating your own mission and game content.

You can find a topic regarding the Mission Director in the Scripting and Modding section of our forums. There you can get answers, download the files, read ongoing discussions about missions in development.

As is mentioned in the documentation you'll find with the Mission Director, this version is only a technology demonstrator and as such is provided 'as is' and is unsupported by Egosoft. That means we won't be making any changes or updates to it. That's not to say we don't care. Volunteers who already have significant experience with the MD are standing by to assist. Translations of the MD Guide are already being prepared for German and Russian.

In addition to the example files provided with the MD we thought it would be nice to share with you the very first mission designed using the MD. This mission was developed by CBJ and Toastie way back in Spring 2006 and is based on the X³ plot's first mission. This first mission was an important step on the way to developing the functionality you see today in the MD. Enjoy.

17.Oct.07 X³ Reunion - Bonuspackage 3.1.07  (169 Comments)
Up until now the principle source of minerals for factories has been the large mining complexes, with mobile mining left to a few dedicated souls. Now, with the introduction of the Mobile Mining / Mineral Collection Software factories and free traders alike can easily tap the resources of the smaller asteroid debris in sectors.

Of course just flying in open space can be dangerous, but with the new ability to defend a position, setting up sentries to protect your mining ships has never been easier.
