The M5 class is an interesting choice for wingmen because they are inexpensive and extremely fast. They can be rapidly sent ahead to engage an enemy vessel, enabling you to have a fight started before you actually get involved personally. They might not last the engagement, but can prove an adequate distraction if you're rushing to the aid of a freighter. These ships are better for those players who like to use disposable wingmen.
